As much as I enjoyed art at school, once I left, I left art behind. Unfortunately, I went down the wrong path and, In 2008 I ended up serving a four-year prison sentence for being an Idiot in life.

​

Looking back now though, In truth it was a blessing in disguise.

​

While serving my sentence, I discovered painting. What started as a way to pass the time quickly became something much deeper—a passion, a purpose, and a vision for a different future.

​

During my time in the prison art class, I entered the Koestler Awards, a national competition open to prisoners across England. With over 8,000 entries submitted, I was proud to finish in the top three in the Portrait category. That moment gave me something I hadn't felt for a long time—belief in myself. It made me realise that I had a genuine talent and that art could become something much bigger than I had ever imagined

.

It was then that I made a promise to myself: when I was released, I would continue creating art and do everything I could to turn it into a career.

The journey wasn't easy. I balanced work while painting whenever I could, taking on small commissions and slowly building my confidence and reputation. Eventually, I made the decision to leave my job and dedicate myself fully to my art.

​

I knew I needed a way to stand out. My goal was simple: get my artwork signed by a celebrity and then I'd be famous HaHa! at least that was the plan!

 

That opportunity came though when boxing legend Evander Holyfield attended an event in my hometown. I brought along one of my paintings and had the chance to meet him. It was an unforgettable experience, but even more importantly, I met the organiser of the event, who saw something in my work.

A year later, he contacted me and invited me to paint live at a Vinnie Jones event. The opportunity sounded incredible, but I was extremely nervous. Still, I couldn't let it pass me by. My artwork was signed and auctioned for charity, and the event was a huge success. It opened doors I never imagined possible.

​

Soon afterwards, I was invited to paint live at an event featuring Al Pacino—one of my favourite actors growing up. To this day, it remains one of the most surreal moments of my career. Since then, I have had the privilege of meeting and working alongside some of the biggest names in sport, film, and entertainment. My artwork has been signed by celebrities, auctioned for charitable causes, and showcased at prestigious events across the country.

Beyond the artwork itself, one of my proudest achievements has been sharing my story. I've worked with young offenders, showing them that there is another path and that a better future is possible. I was also invited back to the very prison where I first learned portrait painting and how to work with oil paints, giving me the opportunity to inspire others who may be facing the same challenges I once faced.

​

Most recently, I was invited to paint live at the world-famous Epsom Derby, becoming the first artist to do so at this historic horse racing event. Once again, it was an incredible experience and another reminder of just how far this journey has taken me.

​

Today, my business continues to grow, and exciting opportunities keep arriving. Every event, every painting, and every person I meet is part of a journey that began with a promise I made to myself many years ago.

​

My story is proof that no matter where you start in life, with determination, hard work, and belief in yourself, it is possible to create a new future.

​

For me, this has been an amazing journey so far—but it is only the beginning.
